Booking & Cancellation Policies

Rescheduling is free when requested within the refund window and subject to availability. Outside that window it is not guaranteed. No rescheduling fees.

Discounted and group bookings follow the same seasonal policy.

Your pickup time is usually about 30 minutes before the tour starts. Please be ready in the lobby 10 minutes before your pickup time. The driver waits 15 minutes at the hotel; airport flights are monitored at no cost. Transport is never included in the tour rate — it is quoted separately by hotel and zone.

Tour + transfer in one booking: each service follows its own rule. Cancel 30 hours before a Green Season tour with a transfer, and the tour is refunded (24 h rule) but the transfer is not (48 h rule).

These follow the operator's own policy, shown on the activity page, at checkout and on your voucher. If none is shown: 48 h+ before → 100% refund minus 5% fee; under 48 h → no refund, all year.

Book at least 72 hours ahead. Hide cabins, lodge and crew are reserved days in advance. Under 5 days, the booking is non-refundable from the moment it is confirmed.

Applies to every Costa Rica package and itinerary and to international expeditions and workshops. The package is governed as a whole — its tours and transfers do not use the day-tour or transfer rules.

50% non-refundable deposit. Balance due 60 days before departure.

Booked less than 60 days ahead: 100% payment at booking.

If the balance is not paid 30 days before, the booking may be cancelled and the deposit kept.

30+ days before: anything paid above the deposit is refunded. Under 30 days or no-show: no refund.

If VIVO cancels for low enrollment: 100% refund.

Unused services are not refunded or credited. Travel insurance is mandatory.
